AROUND A WARATAH

One Day Workshop

The delightful Waratah blocks are machine pieced from strips which float onto the background fabric to make a stunning burgundy coloured single bed quilt. This is a design that looks equally as good made from other strong colours such as purple, gold or blue if you wish to make a quilt to suit your decor.

A one day workshop suitable for all levels and those who love design as there are many possibilities for using these blocks and techniques.

CHARM QUILT

One day workshop

This is a fun and exciting day where students exchange fabrics and begin to build their individual one patch Charm Quilt.

Participants will be taught colour value and how to use this knowledge to put a traditional design together using the shape of their choice.

A good class for 16 - 20 students in a large room or hall.

FLYING GEESE

One day workshop

A popular quilt for both adults and children, Flying Geese has always been a favourite because it can be made in so many different ways. It can be made to look modern by using contemporary or bright colours or give it a traditional look by using country colours checks, stripes and print fabrics. This single bed quilt is rotary cut, machine pieced and quilted. Making the large geese this way is great way for beginners to learn template free piecing.

FEATHERED STAR

One day workshop

The ideal class for those patchworkers who have always wanted to piece a 'Feathered Star' by machine using template free, rotary cutter techniques. The drafting is already done for you and you will be amazed at the way this beautiful traditional design comes together. The finished star measures 30 inches square and is ideal to set on point for the centre of a medallion quilt, lap quilt or wall hanging. Techniques for how to complete a medallion quilt with pieced borders will be discussed.

FLOWERS FOR GEORGIA

One Day Workshop

Many four block applique quilts were made during the 19th century from the classic red green and gold fabrics. This traditional favourite is approached from a different angle using six easy steps to applique by machine with a hand sewn look and template free piecing for the border. A fast, fun and informative workshop suitable for all levels.

GRAN'S VERANDAH

One day workshop

This design is reminiscent of my Grandmother's verandah. It is an easy quilt to rotary cut and machine piece which is great for beginners as well as the experienced quilter.

A combination of large and small prints as well as checks and plaids give this quilt the look of a tiled verandah. A great design if you are looking to make a quilt out of the flannel fabrics available on the market today.
